5.14.10 Synchronization File
As introduced in the Online Synchronization topic, starting from version 1.8, 7 Sticky Notes offers a new great Online Synchronization feature!

When this options is enabled (done at the Sync Section of the options), a few new program functions become available, including new Program and Note menus items, and also a new "Sync File" item at the Notes Manager, and specific functions for it, that will allow you to perform several synchronisation management actions, such as synchronising single or multiple notes, managing Database Images, synchronising from specific Database Images, etc.

All these synchronisation management actions will be explained next in this topic.

So, once you open the Notes Manager with the Online Synchronization feature enabled, the first thing you will notice is that now you have a new "Sync File" item showed by a small "Cloud" icon, along with a "Quick Sync" and "Database Image" items inside it, as it is showed at the image below:

Each item of the Sync File showed above is going to be explained below:

1. Sync File Item: This is the parent item of the Sync File areas. It holds both the "Quick Sync" item, which will show the notes inside the Quick Sync, and lists the Database Images that are inside the Sync File. When you select it, at the Notes Manager Status Bar will be displayed the number of notes inside the Quick Sync, and the number of Database Images you have.

2. Quick Sync: this item represents the Quick Sync area of the Sync File, and will show any notes that are inside it, as it was detailed previously at the Quick Sync topic. If you select this item, all the notes inside the Quick Sync will be visible at the list pane, with title, text, creation date, last modification, and Desktop Name information. Additionally, when you click a note inside the Quick Sync, its "Synchronization Date/Time" is showed at the Notes Manager status bar. One important thing to note is that you will only be able to either delete or move/copy the notes from/to the Quick Sync, all other Notes Manager actions are disabled.

One very useful functionality of the Quick Sync item is that you can use it to send and receive your notes to the Quick Sync. It was designed to be simple and easy to use, so it follows the same drag-and-drop usage of the Notes Manager, that is, to send a note to the Quick Sync, all you need to do is Drag and Drop the note over the Quick Sync item, and, in the same way, if you want to move a note out of the Quick Sync, just Drag and Drop it over any one of the Desktops, or CTRL + Drag and Drop to Copy it to any one of the Desktops. Multiple notes drag-and-dropping actions are supported too.

And lastly, the Quick Sync item offers one additional feature, that is not possible to be used from the Program Menu: if you right click it, you'll be able to access its "Get all notes to their Desktops" menu (showed at the picture on the right), which will allow you to move the notes out of the Quick Sync into their original Desktops (instead of the selected
Desktop, as is done by the Get all notes from Quick Sync program menu). In the same way, this function can be used in copy mode if you press the CTRL key.

3. Database Images: As it was detailed previously at the Complete Sync topic, these items will show the Database Images that are inside the Sync File. As it was also commented, 7 Sticky Notes by default stores 1 Database Image inside the Sync File, but, from the Program Options you can configure it to store as many Database Images as necessary.

In this way, under the "Sync File" item you will always see the exact number of Database Images configured at the Program Options, even if there are not any Database Images inside the Sync File. All existing Database Images are listed ordered by its Synchronization Time, from most new at the top to the oldest Database Image at the bottom and with its synchronization date/time, and any empty/non-existant Database Image will be showed with a small "Warning" icon overlay. You can see this in the example below, where we have configured to have a maximum of 3 Database Images inside the Sync File, but we have only one, and the other two are showed as empty items:

And when you select any Database Image, all the notes inside it will be showed at the list pane, with title, text, creation date, last modification, and Desktop Name information. Additionally, when you click a Database Image, its "Synchronization Date/Time" is showed at the Notes Manager status bar, along with it comments, if they were entered when the Database Image was created. One important thing to note as well is that here you be able to perform some basic actions with the notes inside the Database Image, but also will only be able to either delete or move/copy the notes from/to the Database Image, all other Notes Manager actions are disabled.

And lastly, as it was described in the Complete Sync topic, the Notes Manager also offers some advanced functions for you to manage your Database Images. First of all, you can "Edit" a Database Image by sending or getting any note to/from the Database Image. This function was designed to be simple and easy to use, so it follows the same drag-and-drop usage of the Notes Manager. For example, to send a note to a Database Image, all you need to do is Drag and Drop the note over the Database Image item, and, in the same way, if you want to get a note

out of the Quick Sync, just Drag and Drop it over any one of the Desktops, or CTRL + Drag and Drop to Copy it to any one of the Desktops. Multiple notes drag-and-dropping actions are also supported.

The other advanced functions are accessible by right-clicking the Database Image. Once you do this, a specific menu for the Database Image is displayed, letting you access some extra functions, as is showed in the image below:

These function menus are going to be described below:

"Delete this database image": Permanently deletes the selected Database Image.
"Sync Down from this Database Image": Performs a "Complete Sync Down" (as it was described in the Complete Sync topic), but specifically from the selected Database Image.
"Modify Database Image Comments": Allows you to modify the comments/description of the Database Image.

And that is it! The "Sync File" item of the Notes Manager and its functions are very powerful and allows you to manage completely the Synchronization File of 7 Sticky Notes, so sharing it is even more easy, and fun!
