5.15.10. Synchronization
This topic will describe the "Sync" section of 7 Sticky Notes options, which can be seen at the picture below. At this page, you can change the embedded attachments folder location, and customize and activate all the configurations for the Online Synchronization feature of 7 Sticky Notes sync configurations.

1. Attachments Folder - Defines the folder where all the embedded attachments (files and folders) of the notes will be stored. When you change this folder, 7 Sticky Notes will automatically copy all attachments to the new folder and then update this new location for each note. If, and only if, the copy and update operations are complete with all attachments successfully moved to the new attachments folder, without any errors, and the source and destination files/folders sizes are the same, 7 Sticky Notes deletes the files from the old folder. These extra verifications were implemented to avoid any file or folder to be lost. You cannot change this path if you also modified the database path. To know more about the attachments feature of 7 Sticky Notes, visit the Attaching Files/Foler topic.

2. "Activate synchronization file" - Enables the Online Synchronization feature of 7 Sticky Notes, activating the synchronization file, for integration with Online Storage Services such as DropBox, SkyBox, Google Drive, etc. To know more about the Online Synchronization feature of 7 Sticky Notes, please visit its special topic topic.

3. Synchronization File Path - Defines the location of the Synchronization File. The Default location is inside your Windows user documents folder (My Documents), but you can customize it to work with your favorite Online Sync Service (for instance, DropBox' folder).

4. "Number of Database Images to keep" - As explained in the Complete Sync topic, 7 Sticky Notes Online Synchronization feature can have one or multiple Database Images inside the Sync File. The default maximum number of database images is one, but here you can define the Sync File to store multiple Database Images. Note: for performance reasons, it is not recommended to have more than 5 Database Images.

5. "Number of sync down backup files to keep" - Defines the maximum number of sync down backups to store for 7 Sticky Notes Online Synchronization feature, as it was explained in the Complete Sync topic.

6. "Don't sync database image Statistics" - When enabled, the Statistics won't be synchronized for the Database Image synchronizations. This feature allows the synchronization to be processed faster as it will not include any statistics for the database, and it is disabled by default.

7. "Input for comments on database image synchronization" - As explained in the Complete Sync topic, it is possible to enter comments/description for the Database Images. When this option is enabled, an input box will prompt before all Complete Sync Up processes to allow inputting any sync comments for the Database Image.

8. "Move notes by default to (send) Quick Sync" - When enabled, all 7 Sticky Notes menus and drag and drop actions of the Notes Manager will by default move the notes to the Quick Sync. If this option is disabled, all the default program actions will copy the notes to the quick sync. All 7 Sticky Notes menus captions and drag-and-drop mouse icons are updated according to this configuration. Also, as commented at the Quick Sync section, when CTRL is pressed while performing the sending of notes to the Quick Sync, this configured action will be inverted.

9. "Move notes by default from Quick Sync" - When enabled, all 7 Sticky Notes menus and drag and drop actions of the Notes Manager will by default move the notes from (get)) the Quick Sync. If this option is disabled, all the default program actions will copy the notes from the quick sync. All 7 Sticky Notes menus captions and drag-and-drop mouse icons are updated according to this configuration. Also, as commented at the Quick Sync section, when CTRL is pressed while performing the receiving the notes from the Quick Sync, this configured action will be inverted.

10. "Notify me about updates in the Synchronization file" - This option is enabled by default, and enables the display of the synchronization notification window everytime there is an update at the sync file. For more information about the notification window, please see the Online Synchronization Notifications section.

11. "Auto-close notification after (seconds)" - Enable the automatic closing of the sync notifications window, and also the configuration of the auto-close time, in seconds, in the text box on its right. This option is enabled by default. If this option is disabled, the Notification Window will remain open until it is closed from its "close" button, or until the "ESC" key is pressed. For more information about the notification window, please see the Online Synchronization Notifications section.
